Punch! is a Turkish Progressive Rock band formed in Istanbul in 2022. With a broad and liberal perspective on music, Punch! not only delves into various sub-genres of Rock but also incorporates Blues, Funk, Jazz, electronic music, and many other genres into its repertoire. The band consists of Sarp Tunga Yılmaz (vocals), Baha Baykal Çetinel (guitar), Can Sönmez (keyboard), Berat Han Bayraktar (bass), Ömer Mert (drums), who joined the group in 2024, and Emre Bilgiç (creative partner)..
The band was founded by Baykal Çetinel, Can Sönmez, Sarp Tunga Yılmaz, Berat Han Bayraktar, Hakan Yılmaz, and Emre Bilgiç. The name Punch! was chosen for its metaphorical representation of the band, akin to the diverse mixture found in a punch cocktail. Punch! debuted with their single "Unutulmuş Hatıralar" in 2023, showcasing their unique blend of musical influences and storytelling. Later that year, they released "Akbabalar," a poignant track reflecting on the earthquake disaster in Turkey.
The year 2024 marked a new chapter for Punch! with the introduction of two diverse singles, "Blinded By Your Love" and "Get Stuffed!" These tracks not only explore different genres but also feature the dynamic drumming of Emre Öğüt, showcasing the band’s versatility.
With their new drummer Ömer Mert joining the lineup with "Awaken The Beast", Punch! is poised to continue their musical journey, promising genre-defying releases.
